Sonya Padilla
Founder & Clinical Director, Heal Here
A proud Albuquerque native, Sonya is a dedicated mental health professional committed to helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. After earning her degree in 2019, she began serving the local New Mexico community with a passion for trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
As an EMDR Certified Therapist, she specializes in helping clients process trauma, reduce emotional distress, and build resilience in a safe and supportive environment. Her approach is rooted in compassion, authenticity, and the belief that healing happens when people feel seen, heard, and empowered.
In 2025, she founded Heal Here, a therapist agency created to expand access to quality mental health services throughout Albuquerque and surrounding communities. Through Heal Here, she has built a team focused on providing personalized care and fostering meaningful, lasting change for individuals, couples, and families.
Her mission is simple: to create a space where healing begins, hope grows, and every person has the opportunity to move forward with confidence and purpose.

Beyond her clinical work, Sonya is deeply committed to clinical supervision, mentorship, and the professional development of future mental health providers. She is passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for students, interns, and early-career clinicians to gain hands-on experience, strengthen their clinical skills, and grow into confident, ethical, and compassionate professionals.
